Iron-Aluminum Separator Blade Replacement Procedure
Disconnect Power and Ensure Safety: Before performing any operation, the power supply to the equipment must be completely disconnected (unplug the power cord or turn off the main switch), and the equipment must be confirmed to be completely stopped to prevent accidental start-up and personal injury.
Remove Protective Cover: Use appropriate tools (such as a wrench or screwdriver) to remove the protective cover or housing in the area where the blades are fixed to access the blades and fixing bolts.
Remove Old Blade: After confirming that the equipment is powered off, carefully remove the worn or damaged old blade from the cutter shaft. Note that the blade edges are sharp; wear protective gloves.
Inspect the Blade Holder: Before installing the new blade, inspect the cutter shaft and blade holder for wear, cracks, or damage. If damaged, repair or replace them first, ensuring the new blade is securely installed.
Install New Blade: Correctly install the new blade onto the cutter shaft, ensuring the center hole of the blade is aligned with the shaft center. When installing, use alloy steel blades of the same material as the original to ensure compatibility and durability. According to the equipment design, evenly install the blades at the designated positions on the cutter shaft.

Tighten the bolts: Using a torque wrench or suitable tool, tighten the bolts securing the blades evenly according to the torque values specified in the equipment manual. Avoid uneven tightening that could cause blade misalignment and severe vibration during operation.
Reinstall the protective cover: After confirming the blades are securely installed, reinstall the protective cover or housing and tighten all fixing screws.
No-load test run: After ensuring all personnel are away from the equipment, connect the power and conduct a brief no-load test run. Observe whether the equipment runs smoothly and whether there is any abnormal noise or vibration. Only after confirming that everything is correct can normal operation begin.
Important Safety Precautions
Personal Protective Equipment: When changing blades, protective goggles and cut-resistant gloves must be worn to prevent injury from flying debris or sharp blades.
Use the correct tools: Always use the dedicated tools matched to the equipment. Avoid using unsuitable tools, which could cause stripped bolts or damage to components. Follow the instruction manual: Different brands and models of iron-aluminum separators may have different blade fixing methods (such as bolt specifications and tightening direction). The safest approach is to consult the official operating manual that came with the equipment.
Regular maintenance: Check the blade wear regularly based on the frequency of equipment use and the hardness of the materials being processed. Typically, the blades need to be inspected or replaced after processing a certain amount of material (e.g., hundreds to thousands of tons) to maintain the equipment’s separation efficiency.
